Beirut Explosion Relief Fund

On August 4, 2021 Beirut experienced one of the most catastrophic explosions in history directly in their downtown region.

We need your help by donating today and asking our provincial and federal government to send aid.

The blast has claimed many lives, injured thousands, destroyed homes, dismantled critical infrastructure, and even eliminated the country’s primary grain reserves at a time where the people were already on the brink of famine. Over 300,000 people in the heart of Beirut have been displaced from their homes with no shelter, food, or water. This number will continue to grow.

Lebanon has continued to experience one of the worst humanitarian crises in modern times anywhere in the world while being abandoned by most. In less than one year, the people of Lebanon have accepted the most refugees per capita while their economy collapses, their electricity supply be diminished, violent regimes attack them, their health system be compromised, their loved ones starve, and their government neglect them.

The situation becomes more dire each day. The challenges above compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic and economic hyperinflation will continue to overwhelm the local humanitarian efforts if we continue to be silent. On behalf of the Lebanese People in Halifax, in Canada and our families living in this devastation we implore you to support.

Through Saint Antonios Church, 100% of the donations will be directed towards food, shelter and medical needs of those directly affected by the crisis.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Lebanon
